The Digital Ministry Initiative Free software for nonprofits

We're building the infrastructure nonprofits need to thrive for years.

The software is built. Nonprofits need it. Now we need to scale it. We've created world-class tools and we give them away completely free — HopeDesk, Fundrly, Sermon Slides, and more — because nonprofits should never have to choose between tools and mission. What we need now is a team to support this ecosystem, improve these tools as nonprofits ask for it, and build the partnerships that get this into the hands of organizations that need it most. The Digital Ministry Initiative is a movement funded by people who believe in changing the world.

It starts with the first 200

It costs us about $50 a month to give one nonprofit a fully-supported account, with hosting, reminders, and real support all included, so we've begun with a goal we can see all the way to: equipping the first 200 nonprofits, completely free. Every $50 a month that someone gives is one more organization served, and one more piece of proof that a whole community can carry the cost of tools that used to be out of reach.

We want to be the trusted partner nonprofits lean on for years

We start with 200 nonprofits. But this is about building something that scales to thousands. We're not testing whether nonprofits want free, good software — they do, it's obvious. What we're building is a real partner in their corner. One that listens to what they need, keeps building better tools, and stays committed to their success not for a season, but for years. Not a vendor who disappears when the funding dries up, but an advocate who grows alongside them.

That's why we need Founding Partners. Scaling an ecosystem to serve thousands of nonprofits takes a real team. It takes salaries for people who support nonprofits, who listen to their needs and help them succeed. It takes investment in the servers and infrastructure that keep the tools running reliably. It takes the relationships and partnerships with networks and communities so nonprofits even know we exist. This isn't a one-time proof of concept — this is the annual operating budget for an ecosystem that's going to serve nonprofits for years to come.

Why we're doing this — and what becomes possible

The nonprofit sector has a problem: great tools exist, but most weren't built with nonprofits in mind, and the best ones are priced so high that most organizations simply can't afford them. Every dollar spent on software is a dollar taken from mission. As the body of Christ, we believe that's backwards. Nonprofits doing kingdom work shouldn't be trapped by tool costs or forced to choose between capability and sustainability.

So we're building tools for nonprofits, not adapting tools at nonprofits. And we're giving them away, free, so every organization — from the largest to the smallest — can access what they need to reach more people and do more good.

When the nonprofit sector has this infrastructure in place — world-class tools built for how they actually work, sustained by a community of donors who believe in the mission — everything changes. Nonprofits can dream bigger, plan further out, and pour every resource into the people they serve. That's the movement we're building.

Two ways to fuel it

Sponsor a nonprofit

For $50 a month, you give one organization the tools they need at no cost — the simplest, most direct way to serve a nonprofit today.

Become a Founding Partner

You fund the operating system of this ecosystem. That means salaries for a support team that helps nonprofits succeed with these tools. It means the infrastructure — servers, security, reliability — that serves thousands. It means the relationships and partnerships with communities of nonprofits so organizations even know we exist. It means stability so we're never tempted to compromise on the mission or charge nonprofits for what should be free.
